Straight guy forced gay

Another time, there was a really violent attack on a transgender woman who got to OPP around Mardi Gras in March of 2009. Many of the people on my tier were taken with me to Old Parish. There is a reluctance to speak out because to do so would reflect negatively on the gay community, which is already the target of prejudice and discrimination. The first is heteronormativity which suggests that same-sex relationships are so far outside the cultural norm as to be a form of deviance that is deserving of being stigmatized.

Because there is a stigma attached to the label of gay, this stigma negatively affects how male victims believe others will treat them, thus impeding their recovery. I feel afraid and nervous or paranoid all the time. I went to the Central Lock-up at the OPP’s House of Detention. With no one to help me, I laid down on the floor, bleeding from my injuries, and terrified about what would happen next.

Tell him you do not believe that same-sex rape is an expression of gay sex or that it in any way alters his identity as a man. But I’m very happy that you’re hearing my story anyway.

When I was arrested in 2008 in New Orleans, I was on a 72-hour pass from the Harrison County Work Center in Mississippi. I take a few different prescribed psychiatric drugs, but I really don’t think I am ever going to get over this.

I think that what I went through and what I saw happening to some of the other people at OPP could have been prevented if OPP had done something to keep inmates like me — guys who are gay or who are going to be targeted by other inmates — safe.

He forced me into bed, fucked me, and refused to wear a condom. However, I discovered that outside of child abuse and the prison population, the gay community deals with that a lot. His sexuality is not the issue, and neither is his manhood. As far as I know, my pleas for help were never investigated and no record was kept of the assaults.
