Can I participate in both the Parade and as a Vendor?
Yes! Kenneth intends to utilize her scholarship award to help pay for her tuition. Malia will use this money to support my education and expand QPOCA as it continues to grow into a flourishing space for the community.
Danny is currently studying Child and Adolescent Development, specializing in Early Childhood Education, at San Jose State University.
As a new college student, they are excited to continue exploring ways to get involved with social justice causes in San Diego. His amazing life and ability to bring the Silicon Valley community together to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride each year was truly remarkable. They have been organizing student-led campaigns and working with community organizations in the Bay Area since high school.
Together, we’ll create an unforgettable Pride celebration for everyone to enjoy. Hear our CEO Nicole Altamirano share the powerful history and 2025 theme: “Unstoppable: 50 Years of Love, Legacy & Liberation.”
From backstage access with the Entertainment Committee, to storytelling with the Media Team, to building community with Hey Girl—there’s a volunteer role for everyone.

Our History
Silicon Valley PRIDE is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.
1975: Started as a gay rights rally in San Jose.
1976: Evolved into the San Jose Pride Festival.
1977: Introduced its first official PRIDE parade.
2014: The festival was renamed Silicon Valley PRIDE to include neighboring cities, fostering unity across the region.
Today, Silicon Valley PRIDE is the largest PRIDE celebration in the South Bay—a family-friendly event that honors and celebrates the right to love and live authentically.
We continue the legacy of advocacy and resilience, standing on the shoulders of those who fought for equality and inclusion. We will not be erased!

Board of Directors
Silicon Valley PRIDE is guided by a dedicated and diverse group of volunteers who lend their time, skills, and passion to advance our mission.
Our Board of Directors and Coordinators are unpaid volunteers who contribute countless hours to ensure the success of our events, programs, and advocacy efforts.
Despite the financial and emotional hardships growing up that impacted his schooling and encountering negative experiences from others surrounding his sexuality, Andy remained dedicated to community service and LGBTQ+ advocacy all while excelling at school despite his circumstances. Violators are subject to removal from the festival.

This scholarship seeks to support LGBTQ+ students in achieving their educational dreams while carrying forward Thaddeus’s legacy of leadership and community-building.
Scholarship Overview
The Thaddeus Orlando Campbell Scholarship Fund provides financial support to LGBTQ+ students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement.

Vendor registration is closed.
Guidelines
Vendor space is confirmed only after payment is received in full.
Vendors are responsible for securing required permits and insurance (if applicable).
Vendors must arrive early for setup and follow teardown guidelines.
Electricity is required for Saturday night vendors and must be reserved in advance.
Vendors must comply with all city, county, and state regulations regarding safety and operations.
Check-In & Setup
Check-in Location: Southbound Market Street from San Fernando
Saturday Setup: 11:00 AM to 4:45 PM (Recommended for all vendors)
Sunday Setup: 7:00 AM to 9:45 AM (Limited time for setup)
Vendor vehicles must be under 13 feet. Vendors will receive 8 wristbands per booth space for team members.
Policies & Requirements
Liability Insurance:
Vendors carrying general liability insurance must submit a Certificate of Insurance naming Silicon Valley PRIDE and the City of San Jose as additional insured parties.
In addition to registering for the Spring semester, Kenneth intends to utilize the funds to help allow her to continue working as TTC President on campus, removing the stress of financial aid.
Originally from Cary, North Carolina, Malia Gibbs is a senior at Santa Clara University studying Political Science and Management.
Submissions in any other format will not be accepted.
Required Application Materials
Essay (Max: 2,000 words, English) – Topic:
“Why are you the right person to receive this scholarship, and how will it assist in achieving your educational goals?”
Provide background information about yourself.
Highlight your contributions to the LGBTQ+ community or other nonprofit causes.
(Optional) Video Submission (Max: 5 minutes, via YouTube link)
Showcase your story, aspirations, and passion for LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Must be public or unlisted on YouTube for review.
Selection Criteria
The Silicon Valley PRIDE Board will evaluate applicants based on the following:
⭐ Academic Achievement – Demonstrated commitment to education.
⭐ Community Involvement – Active engagement in volunteer work and leadership.
⭐ Leadership & Initiative – A proven ability to inspire and take action.
⭐ Resilience & Overcoming Challenges – A strong personal narrative of growth.
⭐ Commitment to LGBTQ+ Advocacy – Passion for uplifting marginalized voices.
Important Dates
Application Deadline: March 8, 2025 (by 11:59 PM PST)
Notification of Award Recipients: March 22, 2025
Award Ceremony: April 12, 2025 – Location in San Jose TBD
The first-place winner will be invited to give a short speech at the award ceremony.
Specifically, she intends to put it towards paying off her overdue student balance, in order to register for the Spring 2023 semester. She co-founded the Queer People of Color Association (QPOCA) to help serve and celebrate their intersectional community and increase joy and visibility for queer students of color. Food vendors must secure a Santa Clara County Health Permit.
Booth & Tent Guidelines:
Vendors may bring their own tent, tables, and chairs or rent them through the festival.
Her research interests include diversity and equity in early childhood education, anti-bias and anti-racist curriculum, and LGBTQIA+ curriculum. By filling out the sign-up form, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the waiver.
• If you are under 18, a Minor/Guardian Volunteer Waiver must be signed by both you and your parent/legal guardian.
• If you are 18 or older, you must complete the Non-Minor Volunteer Waiver before participating.
If you are unable to print these documents before your scheduled volunteer time, Silicon Valley PRIDE will provide copies for you to sign in person.
