This bright and beautiful coffee shop is a perfectly positive space to start your day off on a high note. Make your way to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, which has an amazing visitor center and tram tour if you need to rest your legs after a night destroying the dance floor. Check their website to make sure something is on stage. You can’t miss the pink exterior as you make your way to select your favorite tacos from a menu complete with homemade tortillas, salsas, and more.

Don't miss Tex- Mex and the opportunity to savor dishes like sizzling fajitas, cheesy enchiladas, flavorful tamales, and crispy tacos and other Tex-Mex options. Put on your comfiest shoes and choose the museums that speak to you. Get that visit on the calendar to see for yourself and see all the unique and unexpected experiences that Houston has to offer LGBTQ+ travelers.

The Weekly Circuit

MONDAY

Siphon Coffee is the perfect spot to kick off the week with a delicious cup of coffee and pastry.

One longtime favorite is Dean's. Dean’s Credit Clothing was a department store that opened on Main Street in the 1930s. The Strawberry Basil Margarita and the Frozen Screwdriver are each a thin slice of heaven.

Unity in Community. If not, it’s still the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and an evening with friends.

WEDNESDAY

It’s Hump Day!

Start off with a coffee at Black Hole Coffee House in Montrose. There is no better way to start a week off than with a bowl of queso and tacos al carbon in a historic H-Town institution.

Close out Monday with Houston’s only Broadway revue, The Broad’s Wayat Michael’s Outpost.

Go-go boys, Lady Gaga and stiff drinks - what's not to love? This beer garden straddling Third Ward and Midtown aims to shine a spotlight on Houston’s brew scene. What do we love about Anvil? From a place to watch the big game (hey, you can butch it up) to a cozy spot with a great cocktail menu, check out this list of watering holes not on your gaydar.

One of our favorite spots to hang out these days is Axelrad.

While you're there, peruse the shops and eateries in the Montrose Collective and enjoy the vibes of the new space.

Museums are free on Thursdays! Who knows who, er, what you'll pick up.

Get Fired Up. Foosball, a rockin' jukebox, and delectable bites are just a few of the things that make  Under the Volcano the perfect spot for happy hour...and later.

Montrose is the unofficial “gayborhood” of Houston, and it’s been at the nexus of queer culture in the city, as well as the state at large, since the ’60s. Postino Wine Bar in Montrose, Hungry’s in Rice Village, Jūnin the Heights, are just a few great options for groups or couples to kick off the day with delicious bites and bevvies.

The world is your oyster and Houston has something for everyone!

Choose from a selection of wine and over 30 beers on tap then head to the garden, filled with indigenous plants and plenty of seating, or hammocks if the mood strikes. The queer nightlife scene is a little smaller than what you’d expect for such a big city, but you’ll still find whatever (and whoever) you’re looking for, from the best gay bars in Houston to big dance clubs, and lesbians to leather men.

Bars including The Pastry War, OKRA Charity Saloon, Public Services Wine and Whisky and others are drawing crowds to the historic district. The city’s Museum District—where you’ll find 18 different museums—also lands firmly in the can’t miss column for cultural, historical, and artistic exploration. It’s also positioned within walking distance to great eateries, such as The Waffle Bus, on West Alabama.

End your night with a nightcap at JR’s Bar & Grill (photo above), the quintessential gay hangout, and sing your heart out at karaoke on their stage at 9 pm, and stick around for some fabulous Houston drag at 11 pm.

THURSDAY

It’s almost Friday!

We heart JR's and Guava.
