I wish he would’ve told me because I would not have loved him any differently. However, in the days leading up to his demise while serving his life sentence at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, he allegedly came out as gay for the very first time to his mother.

According to records, George Leontire, Aaron’s openly gay attorney, knew from early on that his client was also a part of the community and could see that it, unfortunately, caused him “immense pain.” That’s because he not only grew up surrounded by an anti-gay culture but also believed he turned gay owing to the intense sexual abuse he endured as a child, starting when he was 6.

“Although I have had a child with Aaron, I still can’t tell you what he was feeling inside; no one can. “Although I’ve had a child with Aaron, I still can’t tell you how he was feeling inside. “He’s like, ‘Mom, you’re going die never knowing your son,’” he recounted. I can say this: Aaron was very much a man to me.

Though there wasn’t a direct motive revealed during the case, many authorities believed that Odin Lloyd may have been aware of Hernandez’s sexuality.

While many innuendoes to suggest that Aaron Hernandez might be gay or bisexual were made during his time in the spotlight as a New England Patriots tight end, he never once addressed them openly.

He was serving a life sentence for killing Lloyd in 2013 and had been acquitted of most charges in a separate double-murder case just a few days before his death.

Jonathan Hernandez said he never was aware of his brother’s sexuality and when asked if it might have motivated the killing of his friend Odin Lloyd, he couldn't say for sure.

“That’s one of the questions and, you know, head-scratchers that they still have regarding really this entire case,” he said.

“[Aaron’s] like, ‘Mom, you’re going die never knowing your son,'” he told Dr. Oz in 2020. He pleaded not guilty and on April 19, 2017, he was found dead in his prison cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center. "No one can.”

She said she was unaware that the late New England Patriots tight end was bisexual, adding that she “would not have loved him differently” if he had told her.

Fiancee of late Aaron Hernandez speaks out on his sexuality after docuseries

The fiancee of the late Aaron Hernandez is speaking out for the first time since the release of a new Netflix docuseries on the life of the football-star turned-convicted killer, including rumors about his sexuality.

In a sit-down interview with ABC News' Amy Robach that will air Wednesday on "Good Morning America," Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez said that while Hernandez did not express to her in any way he may have been gay or bisexual, if he did, she "would not have loved him any differently."

Hernandez, a former New England Patriots tight end, was found guilty of murder in April 2015 for the killing of Odin Lloyd, the 27-year-old fiance of Jenkins-Hernandez' sister, who was found shot to death in a suburb of Boston about two years earlier.

After his death, doctors found Hernandez had advanced chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease linked to head trauma.

In the upcoming interview, Hernandez’s brother described a difficult childhood with an abusive father.

“When you literally have to blow on your brother’s wounds because of the creases of a belt or handprint on your body and the burning sensation it has, and have a rule that in your household you can get beat, but you stay away from the face so other people can’t notice, it really has an effect on the way you approach situations...,” he said in a clip, obtained by WFSB.

His comments come a day after Hernandez's former fiancee spoke publicly for the first time since the release of a new documentary examining his life.

“Although I have a child with Aaron, I still can't tell you how he was feeling inside," Shayanna Jenkins said in an interview with "Good Morning America" Wednesday.

It's not shameful and I don't think anybody should be ashamed of who they are inside, regardless of who they love.
